VTP at the Summer 2021 Thoroughbred Heritage Horse Show
Representatives from Virginia Thoroughbred Project were on site and in the saddle at the Summer Thoroughbred Heritage Horse Show held at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington on August 22, 2021. More than 80 horses showed in hunters, jumpers, dressage and combined training.
Show organizer Erin Mitchell graciously allowed the Virginia Thoroughbred Project to be represented at the show. VTP board president Sue Hart and board member Sally Hamlin enjoyed meeting attendees and competitors who stopped by their information table to learn more about the organization. VTP branded jewelry, keychains and caps were on display and available for purchase, along with raffle tickets for a chance to win an electric scooter and an Apple Watch.

The Virginia Horse Center was a picturesque setting for the show.
“We had a terrific time,” said Sue Hart. “Sally and I enjoyed meeting so many great OTTB fans, and of course seeing all the former racehorses excelling in their new careers.”
Sally Hamlin brought two of her own OTTBs, Sociable Cat (aka Happy) and I’m Not Talking. Said Sally, “We had a great day, and congratulate the organizers on a job very well done. Many thanks to the Thoroughbred Heritage Show for allowing us to spread the word about the Virginia Thoroughbred Project at the show. We look forward to participating in more events this fall!”
Congratulations also to Sally Hamlin and Erin Gill for their Hunter Style Award win with Sociable Cat!
