Exciting Matching Gift Opportunity for Virginia Thoroughbred Project Endowment Fund
OCTOBER 1, 2024 PRESS RELEASE — The Virginia Thoroughbred Project (VTP) is thrilled to announce a remarkable matching gift opportunity: A generous supporter has pledged to match every dollar contributed to the VTP Endowment Fund for the remainder of this year, up to $200,000.
Over the past five years, the Virginia Thoroughbred Project has been dedicated to supporting retired racehorses as they transition into safe, fulfilling lives post-racing. In addition to horse care, VTP provides educational enrichment for local youth and community members, fostering a deep understanding of responsible horsemanship.
VTP’s commitment extends beyond horses — the organization offers a healing space for U.S. military veterans, creating a unique environment where people help horses, and in turn, horses inspire healing and growth in those who need it most.
The long-term goal is to make VTP self-sustaining by generating enough annual income to cover farm expenses, which in turn would allow VTP to support even more at-risk horses. The aim is also to expand educational programs with the Boys & Girls Club of America and the Wounded Warrior Project, furthering the nonprofit’s impact on the community.
This is a unique opportunity for supporters to double their impact. Every dollar donated to VTP October 1-December 31, 2024 will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $200,000, securing a brighter future for the Virginia Thoroughbred Project. Your tax-deductible contributions will directly support VTP’s mission of fostering meaningful connections between horses, caregivers, and the community.
